Principal Physiotherapist, David McPherson, has been servicing the people and businesses of Coolaroo and surrounding areas since 1991. Emphasis is based on Scientific Evidence-Based Management of patients. He is a member of the faculty of Maitland Australia Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS), one of the largest US providers of Evidence-Based Continuing Education Courses for rehabilitation providers.

Coolaroo Physiotherapy is happy to introduce Shu-Mei Cheong who joined our practice on November 2, 2020.
Shu-Mei has completed her Bachelor’s of Physiotherapy (University of South Australia). She has worked at the
Alfred and Northern Hospitals and also in Private Practice.
She specialises in Manual Therapy, Pain Management, Women’s Health, Musculoskeletal, Orthopaedic and PostSurgical Rehabilitation.
Her special interests include Women’s Health, Orthopaedics and Pain Management.
In regards to Women’s Health, ShuMei has experience in assessing and treating conditions such as pelvic floor disorders secondary to incontinence and prolapse, musculoskeletal conditions associated with pregnancy, chronic pelvic pain, antenatal, post natal and childbirth education.
In the field Orthopaedics, Shu-Mei has handled a varied caseload of musculoskeletal and sports injuries.
Shu-Mei has experience in treating WorkCover, TAC and Medicare patients.
She believes, like David, in evidence based practices and in providing the highest quality of service to all patients including in providing education on how to self-manage in order to maximise recovery.
